Otto Addo set to name Black Stars squad for Austria and Germany friendlies this week

The Black Stars will first face Austria on Friday, March 27, 2026, at the iconic Ernst Happel Stadium in Vienna. Kickoff for the encounter is scheduled for 17:00 GMT, with the match expected to provide the technical team an opportunity to assess player form, tactical cohesion, and squad depth ahead of the global tournament.

After the clash in Austria, the Black Stars will travel to Stuttgart in Germany for a second high-profile friendly against the four-time world champions. Germany, who famously lifted the trophy at the 2014 FIFA World Cup, are expected to provide a stern test for the Ghanaian side when the two teams meet on Monday, March 30, 2026.

Coach Otto Addo and his technical staff are widely expected to name a strong and balanced squad for the two fixtures. The matches will serve as a crucial platform to fine-tune tactics, build chemistry within the team, and evaluate key players before the start of the World Cup campaign.

Beyond these two matches, Ghana’s preparation schedule includes additional international friendlies. The Black Stars are set to take on the Mexico national football team in May before concluding their pre-tournament build-up with a final warm-up game against the Wales national football team on June 2.
